ATAF S.p.A., a joint-stock entity since January 1st 2002, runs local public transport network in the Florence area
(538 Km2, 600.000 inhabitants) and, together with a number of private partners, has created a network of joint
ventures involved in mobility. ATAF is structured into four main depots, with a total staff of 1.338 persons.
Its fleet is composed of 445 vehicles whose average age is 8 years and 2 months. In 2001 buses have
covered 18.136.897 km. During 2001/2002 It has obtained the Quality System Certification UNI EN ISO 9001
Vision 2000. ATAF is furthermore involved in a project about tramway for solving Florence municipality’s
